Loved your sense of humor and it gave me inspiration to do a kitchen table top. I just am not sure about a design as yet. I have a kitchen table that needs a new top so I started looking for ideas on tiling and found yours and am going to find all my old tiles that I have had forever and use them up.

Woodworking Planshow to Woodworking Plans for I found your post both hilarious and entertaining, and don’t forget to add very helpful if I am ever brave enough to do a tile tabletop. I have thought about it but just haven’t jumped in to do one yet. I have definitely pinned this post for when I do. Thanks for sharing at #HomeMattersParty

I’m glad I came across this article when I googled “how to install tile on a small table”! I just purchased an old bar cart for $5 (it needs some structural tlc) and found 2 big boxes of 1950’s 4×4 ceramic tiles for free on marketplace! So I’m on the way to Home Depot for some supplies so I can start repairing and tiling the cart’s top. Your project was just the right inspiration for me. I hadn’t thought about adding a design to the tiles! Thank you, and I hope my project turns out as beautiful as yours.

Wow–this is super cool! I wonder if I could do this with the three stacking tables my mom is giving me. I might buy or make the tiles in pottery class, though. Maybe. Great job!

The use of tiles are very good and you just changed the meaning of using the tiles. You have changed the thinking that tiles are not meant to be on the floor or walls, they can be used as and where required.
And i must say this has really inspired me a lot.

I have a table that already has the wood trim. I plan on inserting tiles creating a checker board game. The table is not a heavy one, so it can be carried and placed between two players. We will see how it goes.
